How To & FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions |
Q: When do I need to use the suede or chamois? |
A: Whenever you work from the back of the metal to give dimension or push the
metal. |
You work on the acrylic glass or flexi glass, without the suede, when you are
refining the profiles or embossed parts you did at the back or when you flatten |
the metal. This is done at the front of your project. You also use the suede when working with the decorative wheels to allow their design to leave a clear and deep impression on the metal. |

Q: Do I have to use the Patina ? |
A: Only when you want to give your project an antique touch. If you don`t |
polish your project, eventually it will get the look the patina gives instantly.
But remember this Patina works only with the Pewter!
Q: Do I have to use the Filling Paste ? |
A: Yes, you have to fill the back of your project with the Filling |
Paste. Otherwise, what you`ve embossed can easily be smashed down |
when polishing it or simply handling it. For small areas you can use instead Diamong Glaze or any white glue.
Q: If I break or punch a hole in the metal, can it be fixed? |
A: Yes, with the one glue side "Repair Tape". You just take the piece of |
tape needed to cover the damage and press it from the back of your work. | Nobody will ever know there was a mistake there! |
Q: Can I paint over the metal? |
A: Yes, with any Metal Paint. The result from mixing the Decorative Painting |
and the Embossing techniques, is outstanding. Try also alcohol inks.
Q: Can I cut the metal? |
A: Yes, with the "Dry Point" you can cut all the edges and inner parts |
of the metal over a cutting board. This special tool lets you cut all those |
difficult shapes that the scissors or x-acto just can`t cut.
